About American Star Movers — Hollywood, FL
Born and raised on the Broward coast
Danny Castellano grew up a short walk from Young Circle, and his first paychecks came from lugging beach chairs, mattresses, and rental furniture for an outfit that supplied the Hollywood beach rentals. Two lessons stuck with him from those summers: in this town, people never forget who handled their belongings gently, and a final bill that overshoots the estimate ruins everything that came before it.
“I founded American Star Movers in 2010 because I’d watched too many neighbors get squeezed by junk fees,” Danny says. “You get one price, written down, and that’s exactly what lands on the invoice. When the quote says a studio runs from $359, the studio runs from $359.”
Who shows up and how we run a job
There are 16 of us, 11 of them full-time movers on the books. Every person wears our uniform and arrives in our truck, because farming your move out to a stranger is something we simply don’t do. The front office works in both English and Spanish, so from the opening estimate to the final walk-through, you handle everything in whichever language sits easier with you.
Most jobs kick off with a short list of questions: the pickup and delivery ZIPs, how big your place is, and any notes about towers or elevators. You walk away with a flat number you can pin us to. Come move day, a foreman leads the crew, blankets every piece of furniture, shields your floors and door frames, and tours the home alongside you before the truck rolls.
Why we stay close to Hollywood
This corner of Broward is ours. We already know which Broadwalk high-rises insist on a certificate of insurance before they’ll release the freight elevator, which gated pockets near Davie want the crew logged in at the guardhouse, and how I-95 and the Turnpike clog up the Friday before a long weekend. That kind of street-level knowledge is what keeps surprises off your invoice and off your calendar.
